Buyers can use this checklist to evaluate the accessibility of ICT products and services for accessibility.
1. Documentation Review
- VPAT/ACR provided and current
- Known issues list provided
- Remediation roadmap provided
- Testing methods described (manual + AT + automated)
- Accessibility statement provided
2. Conformance Assessment
- WCAG 2.2 AA claims are reasonable and consistent
- Critical issues identified and addressed
- Medium issues have clear timelines
- No undisclosed high-risk components
3. Functional Accessibility Checks
- Keyboard navigation works across core workflows
- Focus indicators visible and consistent
- Colour contrast acceptable
- Forms and error messages accessible
- Logical reading and navigation order
- Assistive technology compatibility confirmed
4. Implementation and Integration
- Customisation/configuration will not introduce accessibility barriers
- Third-party components assessed
- Supplier has disclosed any limitations
5. Ongoing Obligations
- Supplier commits to maintaining accessibility over contract term
- Annual VPAT/ACR updates included
- Accessibility included in support and incident processes
- Named accessibility contact provided
6. Acceptance Criteria
- All critical/high issues resolved before go-live
- Remediation plan accepted
- Final VPAT/ACR and test report received
